Chemical Injection Systems in South East Queensland

Advanced Waterstop provides specialist chemical injection services to stop water ingress through concrete, blockwork, brickwork, cracks, joints, voids and penetrations. This method is commonly used where water is entering through a solid structure and the leak needs to be treated from within the affected area.

Chemical injection is often suited to basements, lift pits, concrete slabs, car parks, block walls, brickwork, concrete tanks, pools, ponds, spas, warehouses and overhead concrete ceilings. Advanced Waterstop uses practical injection methods based on the structure, access and the way water is moving through the site.

Common Chemical Injection Applications

Chemical injection can be used across many concrete and masonry leak situations. It is especially useful when the outside of the structure is difficult or impossible to access, or when water is entering through cracks, joints or hidden voids.

Common applications include:

  • Basement water ingress
  • Leaking block walls and brickwork
  • Cracked concrete with water ingress
  • Lift pit leaks
  • Concrete pools, ponds, spas and tanks
  • Car parks and basement structures
  • Overhead concrete ceiling leaks
  • Warehouses and concrete slabs
  • Joints, penetrations and voids

How Chemical Injection Works

Chemical injection involves injecting polyurethane or epoxy into the affected area under pressure. The material moves into the crack, joint or void, then expands or solidifies to form a barrier within the structure. This helps shut down the path water is using to enter the area.

The right injection method depends on the structure, leak location, water pressure and repair goal. In some cases, the focus is stopping active water ingress. In others, the work may help protect reinforcement, stabilise the affected area or support the structural integrity of the concrete.

Chemical injection can also be used alongside other repair methods where required. Depending on the site, this may include negative side coating systems, protective coatings, joint sealing, drainage coordination or concrete repair.
